Apply for the 2025 KALEO Future Leaders Scholarship
KALEO is committed to supporting the education and professional development of Korean American law enforcement personnel and their families. Our scholarship program provides financial assistance to eligible applicants pursuing higher education or specialized training in law enforcement-related fields.
This scholarship program encourages KALEO members to actively engage with their communities, get to know students and their backgrounds, and make a meaningful impact on their educational journeys. By fostering these connections, KALEO aims to promote leadership, support educational goals, and strengthen community bonds.
Eligibility and Nomination Process
- Nomination by KALEO Members: KALEO members can nominate a student by emailing the student’s qualifications, achievements, and how the scholarship would benefit them.
- Essay Submission: The nominated student must write an essay on a designated topic: “What does leadership mean to you, and how have you demonstrated it in your life?“
- Selection and Awards: 3-5 recipients are selected each year, depending on the funds raised.
Application and Submission Details
- Nomination: KALEO members must send an email with nomination information.
- Essay: A well-crafted essay on the designated leadership topic.
- Deadline: All nominations and student essays must be emailed to [email protected] on or before May 31, 2025.
- Announcement: Winners will be announced on June 20, 2025.
Award Ceremony
- The nominating KALEO member and the scholarship recipient will attend a special banquet where the recipients are celebrated and awarded their scholarships.
- This event highlights the achievements of the recipients and acknowledges the contributions of KALEO members in identifying and supporting promising students.
- Immediate family of the recipient is welcome to attend the banquet.
